I love photographing weddings at the picture perfect Glen Ewin Estate as the grounds are a photographers dream. And certainly Simon & Nicole's Glen Ewin Estate wedding at the Pulpshed was no exception. It was so so so lovely! The colours Nicole and Simon chose were just perfect and the flowers from Poppies Flowers were simply gorgeous! Simon & Nicole have been together now for 9 years this month after meeting through mutual friends. But the proposal came after they had been together for almost seven years. Everyone knows that this many years into a relationship, surprises are few and far between but Simon somehow managed to have the ring made and keep his intentions a complete secret from Nicole. She had no idea! One evening, he convinced Nicole to go for a drive to seemingly, “pick some mail up” from his parent’s house. As his parents lived in the foothills, Nicole thought nothing of the route he had taken along a scenic road. And when Simon slowed and pulled into a lookout “to grab a jumper out as he was cold”, it still hadn’t dawned on Nicole that it was exactly at sun set and it was a particularly beautiful winter evening. It wasn’t until Simon opened her car door smiling at her through a bunch of flowers and down on his knee that it finally occurred to her what was happening. Nicole immediately said “Yes!” and burst into tears.
Nicole had some very high praise for some of her supplies, which I'm sure you will agree, they all did an amazing job on the day! It's so important to find wedding suppliers you can trust and I'm very happy to share her thoughts with you!

Nicole and Simon's wedding was such a lovely day and I can not express how appreciative I am of this wonderful couple and choosing me as their wedding photographer! I wish you both all the best in your future together as husband and wife!!
"Since my dress was long, I wanted short bridesmaids dresses as a contrast and also thought they would be more comfortable for the bridesmaids given the time of year. It proved really difficult to find short bridesmaid dresses as the long ones were in fashion at the time! The only place I could find in Adelaide that had what I wanted was the Ultimate Bride. I always wanted pink bridesmaid dresses as this is my favourite colour and thought it would complement the boys blue suits perfectly."
"I saw my perfect dress on the Bridal on Pultney website. I went into the shop with my mum, grandma and 3 bridesmaids and tried it on and they all agreed it was stunning. I then tried on about 6 other dresses in different styles just to make sure what I had picked was definitely the dress for me. The girls at the shop then mentioned a new dress had just come in that day, which was a very similar style to one I had picked. I was the first one to try it on and knew straight away it was THE DRESS! I walked out of the change room and everyone nodded and said yes, definitely yes, that’s the one!!!!!"
Seeing each other for the first time on your wedding day is always a special moment and when I asked Nicole what was her favourite moment from the wedding. Her answer was just beautiful!
"Seeing Simon’s face hold back tears as my Dad held my arm and gave me away to the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. Simon’s assures me the most stand out moment is when I rounded the corner and he saw me in my dress for the first time."
What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
Budget. Venue(s). Dress. Theme – the rest will fall into place. Also, time can be a blessing and a curse. Lengthy engagements (ours was 18 months) or planning time. We organised the Venue and Dress but didn’t do much else until 3-months out and were frantic to say the least. Kept telling ourselves we had plenty of time. Oh, and don’t be afraid to delegate to true friends – that’s what the bridal party are for.
